Children and Teens

When I work with children and their families, my goal is to create an environment of acceptance, collaboration and hope. I partner with parents/caregivers and teachers to help children thrive at home, school and with their peers.

I use play and expressive art activities to work through difficult emotion, practice new skills and build resilience.

With teens, my focus is on helping to understand what they are experiencing and develop healthy ways of coping as they continue to explore who they are and what they want for themselves in their lives.

Therapy can help children and teens

  • express and process big feelings including grief, loss, trauma

  • develop emotion-regulation and self-soothing skills

  • build a range of coping skills for difficult situations

  • increase social skills including assertive communication and empathy

  • effectively navigate relationships with peers or family members

  • build self-esteem and self-confidence
